So clever, Sharon. Your kids have fantastic taste. I personally love the socks, though. Merry merry! PS – So glad that I can watch the exploits of Gibson & Ghetto unfold on Instagram. XO
There is a little poetic license going on here Jeanne, but I bet they wouldn’t say no to any one of these. Gibson & ghetto are loving instagram, just finding it difficult to keep up with the fan mail
Hi Sharon it was so simple when it was only toys, as they get older things become more complicated and pricey. I would be very happy with those socks. Regards Esther from Sydney. PS great looking blazer and the bracelet….lovely.
We have just slightly more than zero money here in France Profonde and so I have asked my adult children to think outside the box on gifts. Would love to see comments from others encountering a similar dilemma, if you’re out there!
I know just how you feel, My two are married, so it’s a lot easier now. I asked my daughter if she had a wish list, her answer was yes… I’d love to come home from work & all my ironing was done. I remember as a child receiving knitted socks, which I never wore because they were so itchy, I’d love a pair of those socks you showed. they look so soft.
Love the dreams of our children. My favourite gift was from my daughter when she was a student. It was a coffee table book of our travel photos that she had had printed by one of those online companies. It was so personal and a great improvement on a memory stick for photos. It took a lot of her time to select and arrange the layout, but the financial cost was minimal. Now that we live in France she has sent lots of photos of Sydney harbour in the summer sunshine so that we can see what we are missing this christmas.
If only we all had the capability of fulfilling every dream our children have over their lifetime. I know you and your family will have a wonderful holiday season, no matter what gifts are exchanged. It is the love that your family shares that will make it special.

Oh Esther, rag dolls and playmobil … those were the days. On this list the blazer might be doable but the bracelet most definitely isn’t!

Exactly Barbara, sometimes the best gift we can give is some of our time

INDULGE THEM……..just a little!!!
What a clever list, I’m laughing out loud. I do rather like the Hermès (?) bag. But, oh, those scrunchy socks look sooo cozy and comfy.
I’ve always looked upon Christmas lists as exercises in creative wishing and possibly as general guidelines, not as specific shopping notes.

Very clever and entertaining writing. I laughed about the “shoes with the cute red soles”…. if only.
