The new brocante season is about to start, with my first buyers arriving next week! So looking forward to being out on the road, and sharing the thrill of the hunt again, this really is something that I love!
Part of my preparations for new clients include scouting for new suppliers, and checking out addresses …. you know how it goes, someone says “there’s a great place I know, in a pretty little town about an hour away”, and you think, “hmmm, sounds promising”, but you can’t actually haul clients all the way down there without checking it out in person.
So that, my friends, is how I spent the day today. Driving around Normandy with a girlfriend to keep me company, peering through shop windows, getting inside others, talking to people in bistros, getting a feel for the place. I know, I know, it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it, right?
And so I thought you would like to see some snapshots of my day here, because when we shop here we also take our time, and if there is a château at the end of a lane that looks interesting then we simply drive down to take a look, and if we want to stop at a boulangerie to grab a croissant en route, we are allowed to do that too! Oh yes and of course we take pictures … especially for you!
with best wishes to you from Normandy, for a great weekend wherever you are!

Lovely, pretending I am there!
I do so like the architecture of Normandy, the doors and the colors and the textures. Nice stuff you found, too. That pale grey table over the old piano stool is very sweet.
I have been an avid reader of your blog for some time now and it is part of my Saturday morning ritual – a great coffee and MFCH. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful part of the world with us. Every story, every photograph and new adventure is food for the soul. Have a wonderful weekend.

The architecture and the quaintness of these time worn buildings make my heart sing. There is so much beauty in that alone. What a delightful fun day. Thank you for sharing these Sharon.
Sigh……wish I could be there….

What is the name of the chateau in the first pictures and what is the name of the town in the street scenes?
