This blogging world has brought me many good surprises, many unexpected moments of happiness, and many new acquaintances and new friends.
One of these special contacts is with Coty Farquhar. She lives on the other side of the world; as she gets out of bed I slip into mine; when she dresses for the winter, we are in t-shirts, but we have a common ground.
We both enjoy everyday beauty, and we both love to work with flowers. We skype occasionally and one day we may or not meet…. or maybe not …
This year, she kindly asked me to contribute a bouquet of flowers to each issue of her magazine Styling , thus providing me with the perfect excuse to play!
When things here are at their busiest, I can justify going out in to the garden and pulling together a little vignette because “I promised it to Coty”. Fooling around with flowers and a camera is one of my very favourite things to do.
Coty’s only brief for my contribution is that of a monthly bouquet, or picture, showing flowers and frames … I am having fun here!

Lovely to see you are going to continue to contribute to Coty’s wonderful, free, online magazine Sharon. Beautiful photos and always interesting details. Coty shares your artistic eye and love of antiques and gardens, I’m sure your readers will be delighted by each edition, best wishes from Amanda
Good morning Sharon, can I use the word stupendous? I have to say you have brightened my day with your beautiful flowers and the photography….breathtaking. The garden over here looks tired and confused, the roses have seen better days. Thank you for sharing. Regards Esther from Sydney.
Beautiful!
I will now have to look at Coty’s magazine.
Thank you for sharing.
Bonjour,
Des photos qui m’enchantent…

Love the wildness and free flowing nature of this floral vignette. My gardens are on the wild side so I really favor styling like this. So much more interesting and natural than the “perfect” styling of so many floral photographs with just as much work, if not more. Lovely.
Picture perfect! The Siberian Iris in the foreground are lovely. Your garden is so spectacular! I hope to be able to return to Normandy to see it during one Spring or Summer. Our gardens are now flowering here in New Hampshire. The late blooming tulips are putting on their show right now. At last, at last, after 4 years, I do believe my peonies will be gifting me with some fabulous flowers this summer! I’m trying to get our property into tip-top shape this year as our daughter will be getting married next June at our home. Getting 4 acres into presentable shape will be quite a task!
I am a devoted reader of coty’s mag. + I thought that was you + love the mag. + you. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
Good for you Sharon, I love your blog and especially enjoy your flower arrangements. It is such a joy since we are experiencing a very cold spring here in Michigan and the flowers are slow in poking through the soil. Congratulations on your success.
Just looking at your beautiful photos puts me in a happy mood!
Thank you
I love Coty’s magazine and I love your flower images in this article! It’s as if you magically made those frames stay at the angle that they were. How do you do what you do and so well! X
