Around the fire is where it all happens over Christmas here. It is where we gather to exchange gifts; lift our champagne glasses to exchange best wishes; talk into  the small hours with loved ones home for a few days; it is where we spend lazy afternoons with a book and a sleepy dog. The fire is simply essential.
I love dressing up the fireplace whatever time of year, and for the             holidays it can really sparkle!
Here I used white renonculas, white broom (that smells divine), and some I’m-not-sure-what sprayed silver. A piece of florists foam sitting inside a silver tureen an assortment of candles and, as they say in French, “le tour est joué” – the deed is done.
Hope you’ve enjoyed my christmas flower ideas and that                              your home is looking festive too.

Sharon, Your mantle looks lovely! Your beautiful arrangement would look wonderful into the New Year! Of course you would have to refresh it with some more of your gorgeous flowers. All the best, Rié
Absolutely beautiful!! Thank you for the idea. Merry Christmas from Oregon, Leslie
P.S. Does your house this Christmas look like the photograph of it on your blog banner? It is my favorite snow photograph ever!
Hi Sharon, your flowers are beautiful on that festive mantle! I love your styling.
Enjoy your fireside sessions, here in Afrique du Sud we tend to keep our Christmas celebrations, under cool wide verandahs and under large garden umbrellas!
so here we are again sharon, another year nearly gone, time does fly ~ warmest holiday greetings, wishing you every joy of the season, and a beautiful 2015!
Love it..silver and white is so very elegant!! Happy holidays…
Ohhhh this is so elegant & so gorgeous Sharon! I want my old fireplace back so much after reading this. Festive wonderment, thank you for sharing your life all year long. X
I love your bouquet and your mantle, looks so warm and wonderful.Have a Merry Christmas.
I am usually in Basse-Normandie during the month of May, sometimes stretching into early June. As a hobby, I organize and lead tours to France and England; earlier this year I had one group in Italy, a second group in England, a third group in Normandy; and finally I had ten members of my family and ten friends in one group in Calvados and Le Manche for two weeks..
I have been coming your way for decades. Long ago I hiked and bicycled across your countryside. In recent years I have stayed most often at the Chateau de Canisy, about 10 kms west of Saint-Lo. I also like le Grand Hotel in Cabourg. In 2015 I will arrive in Cabourg with a group of 22 adults on May 9th, and move to Canisy on May 13th, before driving to CDG and flying back to the USA on May 20th.
Beautiful Christmas flowers, Sharon. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
The silver stuff is eucalyptus. I have a huge one that shades my back deck and provides branches for floral arrangements.
Lovely flowers, Sharon. I’m inspired to dress up the house just a little bit more….
I hear winter white is the style this year. Your bouquet is gorgeous as always.

Hi Sharon, sorry for the lateness it’s been a bit surreal on our side of the world for the past week or so but I couldn’t not leave a comment on how you make everything look so beautiful as always and to thank you for sharing with all of us. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones A Very Merry Christmas and A Happy Healthy and Prosperous New Year. Till 2015 Regards Esther from Sydney.
Sharon, my daughter and my best friend and her daughter got together last night and I was telling them about you…so hoping for a trip to meet you soon! Merry Christmas!
Hope you had a nice Christmas, really love the silver and white flowers arrangement, soft tones are so elegant. Very well done
