I met David Phillips, author of Reflections of Venice, through my friend, the wonderful author and photographer Georgianna Lane. I love beautiful travel photography, explorations of cities, and artful details , especially through the eyes of someone as talented as David. I already knew his pictures of Paris, but now he has me longing to return to Venice!
Reflections of Venice, Art and Beauty in the Water, is such an original idea. The book explores the city of Venice through reflections in the water. It really paints a new kind of portrait of this breathtaking city, and its architecture and inhabitants.
I really appreciate when travel photography takes on unexplored perspectives. Venice is a truly magical city, and defined by nothing so much as its moving waters and canals. The patterns and designs reflected in David’s pages made me start dreaming up my next trip to the floating city…

Without a shadow of a doubt these are beautiful photographs!! franki
Venice is so gorgeous that I don’t think even the untalented would take bad photos of it. However, getting something that really stands out requires a lot of skill–for example, lining up for just the right angle for those reflections, so that not only the reflections are just so, but also the light. The result is not just pretty photos but works of art. Thanks for pointing out this book (and books are a great way to remember a trip without spending one’s time shooting pictures that end up full of strangers passing through).
The book is Absolutely mesmerizing!! Gorgeous and so unique!!what a wonderfully creative work of art!

We loved your photos! Did you know that they have the last Gondola factory in the world there? The gentlemen working there were most gracious, showing us around and explaining the entire procedure and why the boats are built in an “S” configuration!! What a beautiful trip down memory lane! Thanks!!
Simply Beautiful
He has really captured the essence of Venice. A great photographer such as David manages to convey the feel and atmosphere of a place. Can’t wait to return to beautiful Venice!
Saluti Signore Phillips. I send you my deepest gratitude for this most stunning book. As someone who is 100% Venetian, this brought tears and joy to my eyes! If I could live there, I would, in a heartbeat; this book is the next best experience. Mille grazie!
