One of the real pleasures of having a blog is the opportunities it gives for highlighting the work of talented and creative people around me.

This theme has been continued in our French Country Home Magazine, where every edition includes an article highlighting a favourite artisan brand, and offering our readers an exclusive opportunity to buy their products.

For our current Artisans of France offer we are very happy to be working with Cire Trudon.   One of the oldest candle makers in France, and whose fragrances are always present in my home.   I use them in different sizes, a smaller one beside my bed and the regular size in my entrance hall and sitting room.

This offer actually sold out last week, but we have had a lot of demand, so we talked to Cire Trudon and we are able to let you know that there are a few more sets available!

I also love to give Cire Trudon candles as hostess gifts when we are invited to dinner.   Everything is gorgeous about these candles, from the packaging, to the hand crafted glass containers, with its gold coat of arms label.   And when the candle is finished I clean out the glass holder and use it for flowers , or pens on my desk – so chic!

I’m sure you know that trick for getting the last dregs of wax out of a candle holder you want to re-use?  No?  Oh well it’s super easy.  Simply pop the jar into your deep freeze overnight, then the next day, use a pointed knife to gently leaver the remaining wax out of the jar!  Done!

Their traditional candle comes in a pale turquoise box, with a dark green glass holder, and that is the one I use the most often, but a couple of months ago they brought out a spectacular copper coloured candle, and I fell in love!   I use these along a fireplace, or outdoors in the evening, and the flame inside the candle holder makes everything shimmer beautifully.
