In a few weeks time we’ll be packing and shipping our May box, the next edition of My Stylish French box, and I wanted to tell you more about the theme and also let you know that we are running our usual giveaway, allowing two lucky winners to receive a complimentary edition of the next big beautiful box!
So where to start?
First of all the theme of our next box.
This May box is called The Romance of Flowers. Flowers are such an important part of my life. There is never a moment when I don’t have any fresh flowers indoors, and of course year round I love to be in my garden, tending, nurturing and dreaming of the next big blooms.
I was born into a family of flower lovers. My mother had a beautiful garden, as did my grand mother, and one of my earliest memories is staying overnight at my grandma’s home, and knowing that she always placed a tiny ‘welcome’ posy in a small vase beside my bed. A tradition I have carried on here, when friends come to stay, or when the kids come home.
Because flowers are not only about Romantic love, they are also about showing how much you care about someone, or even about yourself. Buying fresh flowers for myself, especially in the middle of winter, is the best pick-me-up. Absolutely guaranteed to put a smile on my face and a spring in my step.
The surprise! Our Golden French Key
This will be our second edition of our Golden French Key. For the first box we teamed up with Annick Goutal and one lucky lady won a box of their beautiful products, and for this May box we are truly excited to be partnering with Maison Baluchon.

The recipient of the Key will win this beautiful Cross Body hand bag in leather and their signature design printed cotton. The perfect bag for everyday chic, and at a retail value of approx $300 .
So will it be you who finds the key in the May box? Just one Golden Key will be dropped into a box, at random, during the packing process. If you find the key, to redeem your gift, just take a picture of the key and send it to us, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Flowers bring beauty into my life. I have always loved flowers from the time I followed my father around the garden tending to his roses and others. I knew the names of all types of flowers from the time I was little. I still am taken back to my childhood with lilacs and lilies of the valley. I have made many arrangements on my own. How beautiful the May Box looks. There has never been a box that I have received that has brought so much JOY in opening and using the items inside. I almost did not purchase because I have been out of work. However, my daughter pointed out to me that every time I receive my box I carry on about the items endlessly, taking pictures while spreading them out all over the dining room table. I usually grab a glass of wine, light a candle and open my “Happy Hour Box” after calling all my girlfriends that get the same box. Therefore, if you are hesitating….just don’t. I could go on forever and ever but I will stop now.

I have been to France a long time ago, and MFCH is a wonderful reminder of all of the wonderful things I enjoyed there. Flowers are a joy, and this time of year I like to read “The Secret Garden” and think of all of the “little pieces of earth” that are being brought to life by so many caring hands. She passed away last year and now I honor her with a little crystal vase with fresh flowers next to her picture. I actually have purple azalea branches in bloom from her grave that she planted for her parents 40 years ago in that little crystal vase.

Sharon, I think your boxes are the ultimate gift. This box theme just strikes my soul. Just today watching my grandsons outside in a field (social distancing) my five year old picked a bitty wild flower from the field and came running to me. He froze, at the 6′ distance, and told me about what he had picked. Then he tossed it to me because we couldn’t touch. This was a special moment.
It speaks to the love I have for flowers and that I have passed it on to my grandsons.

Reading this newsletter made me realise that I too am just like my mother, and both grandmothers; there’s always flowers in the house and I love my garden. It’s autumn in Western Australia and a glorious day, too, so I will plant viola seedlings and more coriander. I am very envious of your large, beautiful garden and look forward to the escapists moments when your blog and newsletters arrive. CV-19 has changed how we live but there are some good things, too, like more time in the home and garden and more time with the family. Our regional borders have been closed so we can’t visit my 88 year old mother which was difficult at Easter.

The rose is my birth flower, my mother’s is gardenia, my sister’s is hydrangea ~ like a Spring breeze my nostrils are filled with delightful posies of all varieties, my artistic talents drawing me to imagine pastels of pinks and yellows, lace, silk, and satins ~ perfumes and/or lotions, candles…teas or candy!?! I lost my brother in law last week. Sadly, due to the virus, the funeral was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. The last trip he and my sister took together was to France. That trip brought so much joy and now beautiful memories for my sister. One of your boxes would certainly have so much meaning for her. I’ve introduced her to your website as the beauty of your articles and photos have given me a sense of calm , peace and so much needed smiles during times like this.

My birthday is on April 23rd & I’d so love a box. We would normally be in Provence by now but obviously we can’t travel. On my birthday I’ll be on my own while my husband works on the NHS frontline. Hopefully we’ll get to Isle sur la Sorgue soon to visit all the brocantes. X

It would be such a blessing to win a beautiful box from you! I was just released from hospital yesterday with a new heart diagnosis. It was very stressful being there with the Covid issues going on while I was there. Praying I will not get it. I turn 59 this month and my wedding anniversary is this month as well. This is normally a very happy month for me.
How lovely it would be to receive one of your wonderful boxes at this very difficult and uncertain time.
Always love your newsletters. Normandy is one of our very favourite places. We sadly had to cancel our annual trip to Honfleur in March due to Coronavirus, but hope to be able to go either later in the year or next year.

I will gift my box to my friend, who has actually allowed me to tag along with her 8 times on student trips to France. She is the AP French teacher at the school where I teach (albeit remotely now). She is retiring at the end of the year, and now will not see her AP French students to the finish line. We will have a celebration for her once it is safe. The box will go to her at that time.
