thing’s I’m loving in september

by Sarah Nusz

My summer break was wonderful but it is now behind me and this week saw me straight back to work. We are currently working on the November edition of the MFCH mag, and yesterday I bought a huge Christmas tree! Yes you read that right, and no I haven’t lost my mind, its for a photo shoot here this week. Christmas in September does feel a little weird, but the magazine schedule dictates our seasons here!

So here is my round up of things I’m loving in September. Some favorites from my break in the south, and some closer to home in Paris and Normandy.

1. Pavillon de Faubourg St Germain Hotel

Some of you may remember the Saint Hotel, just off St Germain. It has undergone a big renovation, and I was happy to stay there last week. Beautiful decor, kind and attentive service, I’ll be back soon!

2. While I was in the South of France a couple of weeks ago, I enjoyed the monthly brocante market in Eygaliere. Definitely worth the detour. The village is beautiful, the selection of vendors excellent and there are plenty of choices for lunch.

3. Also in the south, when I’m in Nice, I never miss an opportunity to buy flowers on the Cours Saleya. There are plenty of vendors, but my favorite, and to my mind the best by far is Jean Patrice Mege and his family team. He sells locally grown flowers, and has the best selection anywhere.

4. Cooking home grown vegetables. Our vegetable garden is producing well at the moment, and I’m making lots of ratatouille with the peppers, tomatoes and aubergines that are filling our baskets. If you’d like to see my recipe, check out our new MFCH Recipe book here

5. Herbs from Esprit Provence Find them HERE on the MFCH Boutique. And if you are planning on cooking any French inspired recipes, then I’m happy to say we have all the Provence herbs you could need!

6. The Gardens of the French Riviera Tour. We have some new tours planned for 2025, and I’m very excited about the Riviera gardens trip in April. Luxury accommodation is in the heart of the gorgeous St Paul de Vence, and we include visits to private gardens from St Jean Cap Ferrat to Grasse.

I love seeing your blog also. Is that baby cribs? Are they used for sitting? They are cute. I have a white iron crib.

Are your tours available from the UK as they seem very American orientated price wise? Just asking out of interest

If you’ve been searching for a barbershop that gets it right every time, look no further. I recently visited this spot on 2nd Avenue, and it was an experience like no other. From the moment I stepped in, I felt welcomed and comfortable. The space is clean, modern, and has a cool vibe that makes you feel at ease. My barber was fantastic, super friendly, and really knew his stuff. I went for a skin fade with a textured top, and he absolutely nailed it. The precision and care that went into every detail were incredible. They even used high-quality products that left my hair looking fresh and feeling great. Trust me, this place is worth every penny. Don’t take my word for it; book your visit at https://premiumbarbershop.com/1012-2nd-ave/ and see for yourself!

What a delightful list of September favorites! The mix of summer memories and the transition into the upcoming holiday season feels so refreshing. The Pavillon de Faubourg St Germain sounds like a dream, and I love that you’re already getting into the Christmas spirit, even if it’s for a photo shoot—Christmas trees in September must add a fun twist to the workday!

I’ve been on the hunt for great pizza at a reasonable price, and I’m so glad I found this place! Their specials are amazing—you can try different pizza options without spending too much, which is rare for quality pizza in the city. I ended up with a deal that included a couple of slices and a side, and it was honestly one of the best lunches I’ve had in a while. The pizza was packed with flavor, the crust was crispy and light, and you can tell they care about their recipes. If you’re looking for somewhere with great prices and delicious pizza, don’t miss their pizza promotions. It’s definitely worth the visit!
