Easter is just around the corner, and I’m having fun trying some ideas for my Easter table. There is a definite hint of spring in the air here in Normandy, and I am jumping with impatience to get back out in the garden and seeing the first flowers grow and bloom.

In the meantime, I have a pre-easter lunch planned for friends. I love an easter decor on a table. For many years I’ve dyed the eggs with natural colouring and leaf silhouettes on the eggs, such as here, and here but this year I’m yearning for something a little more bright and fresh.
To decorate these eggs I used white and pale green/blue eggs (I think they are duck eggs). Using these tones as my base color made everything easier, and gave me a good starting point for my color palette.

I wasn’t really sure of where this was going, so before painting the eggs, I tested some ideas on paper. The beauty of using gouache paints is that if it all goes south, which it did several times, you can simply wash the paint off and start over.
These eggs are not perfect by any means, but seen en masse they create a cheerful and spring like table decor.

Love your eggs so pretty are they real? Yes me too can’t wait to get outside in the sunshine and garden. Today we did a clean up and had a fire with old wood trees and branches it’s a start didn’t mind the day was perfect.
Spring and Painted Eggs captures the happiness and colors of the season. The symbolism of new beginnings is profound; it is akin to the new perspectives we derive from learning. In reflecting on the themes of growth, I was drawn to some of the resources I extracted and recorded while completing my CIPD Level 7 Assignments.
Beautiful! I’ll be trying this!
I’ve done the leaves on eggs before with onion skin dye. They are always a star.
These are lovely! So very spring!!!
These are beautiful! Did you blow out the egg yolk and egg white or did you boil the eggs first?

As I reflect on the vibrant colors of spring, I’m reminded of my childhood tradition of painting eggs with my grandmother, a cherished annual ritual that symbolized renewal and family bonding.
