Ā We are at that special moment in the year when summer starts to blend ever so gently into sunny autumn.Ā There are specific perfumes on the breeze, the first tinges of colour in the leaves, and with the help of dahlias, asters and zinnias, the garden does it best to show that autumn can be just as good as spring.
Early mornings are filled with heavy dew, and the evening air weighs chilly on our shoulders.Ā We are not yet lighting fires each evening, but we have already reached for some warmer clothes.
How I love a change of season …..
Here are a few shots taken in the garden, sedum, hydrangeas, asters and dahlias, and even the wisteria putting out a few last minute blooms.Ā Ā Autumn in Normandy is starting well.

Stunning photo's. I agree that this early Fall transition time is magical. As the colors deepen and the suns rays dapple through thinning branches, our familiar landscapes in our gardens take on a new perspective. Yours is lovely.
So pretty.
And I love your wonderful way with words.
Have a lovely weekend enjoying nicer & cooler temperatures.
You definitely enjoy and love your garden through your words and pictures. Have a good weekend!

It is both beautiful and a little sad when the garden begins to take on new colours as she welcomes autumn. It always makes me a bit anxious to think of putting the garden to bed for the winter.
Enjoy the changes.
So very pretty, your garden is to die for! Thanks for sharing.

Some flowers have wonderful showings in the fall. I love dahlias but not very successful growing them. Summer's winding down and Fall just starting is one of my most favorite time of the year! Your garden is just as love as ever!
…love to lovely…:)
Beautiful dahlias!
So pretty, are they viburnums in the metal pot. They remind me of snowballs.
Quite the invitation into your lovely blooming world! I enlarged the picture with the white fence and open gate like if I could get nearer or inside that luscious secret garden((: maybe in my dreams…Enjoy it for me too please… Hugs z

Your photographs are beautiful. I was amazed to see how much the wisteria (at least from the picture I think it's wisteria) has grown on your house. It looks awesome. Thank you for a wonderful post.
Such a beautiful garden! Even in the autumn of the year, you still have gorgeous flowers blooming. The photo of your house would make a lovely greeting card! š
Sharon, Your garden is 2die4. I especially loved the Dahlias. Magnificent!

I sigh at the utter beauty and serenity of your place. Your backyard is the perfect setting for a tea party or a fairy tale-ish music video. Haha! Now, Iām anticipating how your garden would look this spring. =)
