Goodness me what an amazing weekend! How many good moments, hunting for loot; enjoying good restaurants; stopping at the side of the road for impromptu photos of a château or a beautiful view; getting up at dawn to check out a local fair.
But the last day had to come, and with it, the last fair
shopping for a picnic lunch;
a loot shoot with just some of the treasure my guests had found
packaging goodies to send home
and finally a dinner here at my french country home

I am a very lucky blogger, to have such lovely people read my blog and who want to come and share the fun of brocante hunting.
Thank you for stopping by to hear about the tour, tomorrow I shall be back to business as usual!

Look at all the fantastic finds. Sharon, I'm sure your guests had an extraordinary time that they'll never forget! I hope you plan to do the tour again – I would love to be able to be able to join one.
Enjoy getting back to normal and congrats on creating such a successful adventure! XO
Sharon, I cannot believe all of these beautiful treasures! WOW! Looking forward to hearing more about this trip.
Have a great night, Elizabeth
My what great finds! My husband is a collector of Napoleon artifacts so that little change purse got my attention right from the start. Would love to come on one of your tours someday.
Sigh. You must be tired, but in the very best way. I hope your week is wonderful.
Hallo Sharon, so many treasures, what a dream! Best wishes, Geli
Bonjour Sharon. It sounds as if you all had a very fun, very productive brocante tour. Just out of curiosity, did you purchase the framed "J'accuse" speech by Emile Zola, or did someone else? Cool find. An original clipping in l"Aurore newspaper, then? Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
Beautiful loot shoot, wonderful things. It sounds like everyone had a fantastic time. 🙂
Sharon,
You made our trip exceptional in every way! We wish you success in any of your future endeavors, and rest assured, we'll certainly be following along:)!
Speaking of rest…no crack of dawn fair in the morning…. we're sleeping in!! Hope you can do the same:) Sending hugs from Paris!!

It was fun joining your brocante tour in your virtual blog. I love those two frames in black with gold trims. Those would be perfect in my house.
Dear Madame de la Sharone,
Have you ever looked at the book "Antiques at Home" by Barbara Milo Ohrbach? I was given a copy of it a few years ago and finally (if somewhat shamefacedly, since I distinctly recall writing an obligatory-if-insincere thank-you letter for a book I'd immediately put aside) read it this morning.
It's wonderful…full of sound advice and tips for maintaining/restoring/shoping-for antiques….and (quite like your blog) emphasizing the sheer FUN of haunting antiques fairs and brocantes, etcetera.
If you don't know-of or have this book, I'll send it back to
de la Fracne with my mother-in-law, and she can mail it to you in Normandy>
Do I sound cheaper and lazier than ever…possibly so, I suppose…but I have to emphasize that she LOVES being giving chores and errands….not that she does any on her own back at home in Tours
OH!…the oddest damn thing just happened this morning….
some lady-I-Don-t-Know just wrote to me on Facebook…turns out she went to high skool with a longtime college-friend of mine…saw a Facebook posting of mine and, according to her, realized that I'm the guy (please tell me I'm not the ONLY one?) who posts on Sharon Santoni's blog….
I gather that she's a great fan of your blog.
Level Best as Ever,
David Terry

Dear Sharon
Love the scene of your farewell dinner for the brocante guests in your garden. It looks enchanting.
Was amazed by the beautifully framed L'Aurore front page with Zola's "J'Accuse". If it's original it is really something to treasure!
Best wishes
Pamela
THis would be just an amazing travel spot, love the location the beauty and the surroundings.
What great things you find Sharon. I have yet to find a really good brocante down here. But I consider it my job to just keep looking. What a terrible mission to have. Somebody I would like to be sitting in your garden having a lovely dinner as well.
When is your next tour?
Looks like our brocante tour was a great success. And what a great collection of loot! Your guests must be delighted. Enjoy your blog so much…
What a wonderful time! And to end it in such a beautiful way – at your gorgeous home, softly lit.
Wow! Now I am even more excited to stay at the cottage! I love the buttons and majolica is so pretty………I am dreaming of delicious apple desserts already!
Congratulations on a tour well done!!! xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
